The Face
Behind the Lace

"Art is the highest form of hope."
-Gerhard Richter

I'm Cherie.
I am many things.
Most days, I feel I am too many things.
I'm a woman, a widow, a mom, a soulmate, a dancer, an artist, a creative person, and a bit of a tortured spirit... the list goes on.
Black Lace Alchemy was born from the feeling of being unable to hold all of these things in a single container. It formed from a deep need to create something from what remained when my world fell apart time and time again. My work is shaped by experiences of grief, survival, and transformation. My hope is that it becomes a testament to what I chose to do with the broken pieces that threatened to end me.
Through photography, writing, and visual expression, I explore the tension between finding beauty in darkness and walking a path of healing and alignment.
